These functions are currently implemented by the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women.

4. At the 24th meeting, on 10 November, remarks were made by the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women.
٤ - وفي الجلسة ٢٤ المعقودة في ١٠ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر، قدم اﻷمين العام للمؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة ملاحظات.

1. the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women opened the eighth meeting of the States parties, on 22 May 1995.

The Committee then began its consideration of the item and heard introductory statements by the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women, the Director of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the Focal Point for Women in the Office of the Director of the Office for Human Resources Management.
ثم بدأت اللجنة نظــرها فــي البند واستمعت الى بيانــات استهلالية مــن اﻷمين العام للمؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة، ومدير صندوق اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي للمرأة، ومركز التنسيق للمرأة في مكتب مدير مكتب إدارة الموارد البشرية.

Before the draft decision was adopted, the representative of the Republic of Korea made a statement, which was responded to by the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women.
١١٩ - وقبل اعتماد مشروع المقرر، أدلى ممثل جمهورية كوريا ببيان رد عليه اﻷمين العام للمؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة.

6. At the 26th meeting, on 14 November, the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women made an introductory statement.
٦ - وفي الجلسة ٢٦ المعقودة في ١٤ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر، أدلى ببيان استهلالي اﻷمين العام للمؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة.

Before the draft decision was adopted, the representative of the Republic of Korea made a statement, which was responded to by the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women.
١١٧ - وقبل اعتماد مشروع المقرر، أدلى ممثل جمهورية كوريا ببيان رد عليه اﻷمين العام للمؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة.

The Committee began its joint consideration of the items and heard remarks by the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women as well as introductory statements by the acting Director of the United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women and the Deputy to the Assistant-Secretary-General, Office for Human Resources Management.
شرعت اللجنة في نظرها المشترك في البندين واستمعت إلى ملاحظات أبداها اﻷمين العام للمؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة وكذلك إلى بيانات استهلالية أدلى بها المدير بالوكالة لمعهد اﻷمم المتحدة الدولي للبحث والتدريب من أجل النهوض بالمرأة ونائب اﻷمين العام المساعد، لمكتب إدارة الموارد البشرية.

At the 49th meeting, on 1 December, the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women, the Director of the United Nations Development Fund for Women and the Focal Point for Women in the Office of the Assistant Secretary-General of the Office for Human Resources Management, made introductory statements (see A/C.3/49/SR.49).
٤ - وفي الجلسة ٤٩، المعقودة في ١ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر، أدلى ببيانات استهلالية كل من اﻷمين العام للمؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة ومدير صندوق اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي للمرأة ومنسق شؤون المرأة في مكتب المدير العام المساعد لمكتب تنظيم الموارد البشرية.

During the year, the Fund was able to bring the experience and expertise of this network to the aid of the United Nations system by organizing an expert group meeting on behalf of the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women and by assisting the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development in the formation of an advisory committee on gender.

61. The CHAIRPERSON said she regretted that additional Secretariat technical services had not been available to assist the working groups in the drafting of their reports. In order to provide better advice to the working groups, particularly on legal questions, she intended to notify the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women of the Committee's difficulties before the fourteenth session of the Committee.
١٦ - الرئيسة: أعربت عن أسفها لعدم توافر خدمات تقنية إضافية من اﻷمانة العامة لمساعدة اﻷفرقة العاملة في صياغة تقاريرها، وأعلنت عن نيتها، بغية إسداء مشورة أفضل لﻷفرقة العاملة، لا سيما في المسائل القانونية، إخطار اﻷمين العام للمؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة بالمصاعب التي تواجهها اللجنة قبل الدورة الرابعة عشرة للجنة.

4. At the 29th meeting, on 10 November, introductory statements were made by the Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women, the Director of the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women, the Focal Point for Women in the Office of the Assistant Secretary-General of the Office for Human Resources Management and the Director of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (see A/C.3/48/SR.29).
