The State party should ensure that all allegations of acts of torture and illtreatment are investigated, including those committed between 1972 and 1990, set up a truth commission to shed light on the allegations, and consider abrogating the Amnesty Act of 1990 with a view to prosecuting and punishing the authors of those acts.

27. The Committee regrets the absence of comprehensive, disaggregated data on complaints, investigations, prosecutions and convictions in cases of torture and ill-treatment attributed to law enforcement personnel.
27- تأسف اللجنة لعدم وجود بيانات كاملة ومُصنَّفة عن الشكاوى والتحقيقات والملاحقات القضائية والإدانات فيما يتعلق بأفعال التعذيب وسوء المعاملة التي تُعزى إلى موظفي إنفاذ القانون.

To that end, the prohibition of torture and the criminal responsibility of the perpetrators of such acts would be clearly stipulated in new legislation currently being drafted on the police, the army and the security forces.
