The Committee will recall that on 28 October 2009, the Special Rapporteur met with Mr. Bhattarai, the Ambassador, and Mr. Paudyal, First Secretary, of the Permanent Mission.

On 28 October 2009, the Special Rapporteur met with Mr. Bhattarai, the Ambassador, and Mr. Paudyal, First Secretary, of the Permanent Mission.

The Chairman informed the Committee that informal consultations on this item would begin on that day, Wednesday, 28 November, following the adjournment of the formal meeting under the chairmanship of Mr. Durga Bhattarai (Nepal) Vice-Chairman of the Committee.
وأبلغ الرئيس اللجنة بأن المشاورات غير الرسمية بشأن هذا البند ستبدأ اليوم، الأربعاء، 28 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر، عقب رفع الجلسة الرسمية تحت رئاسة السيد دورغا باتاراي (نيبال)، نائب رئيس اللجنة.

23. Mr. Bhattarai (Nepal) said that Nepal had made steady progress in achieving the MDGs relating to children, especially in reducing child mortality and working towards universal primary education.
23 - السيد باتاراي (نيبال): قال إن نيبال أحرزت تقدماً مطردا في بلوغ الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية فيما يتعلق بالأطفال، ولاسيما في تخفيض وفيات الأطفال والعمل في سبيل التعليم الابتدائي الشامل.

1. Mr. Bhattarai (Nepal) said that countries committed to graduating from least developed country status should receive special attention and assistance from the United Nations and its development partners.
1 - السيد باتاراي (نيبال): قال إن البلدان الملتزمة بالخروج من قائمة أقل البلدان نموا ينبغي أن تحظى باهتمام خاص وبتقديم المساعدة لها من قبل الأمم المتحدة وشركائها في التنمية.

4. Mr. Bhattarai (Nepal) said that the international community should reaffirm its commitment to the rights of indigenous people, who deserved a better future and a life of dignity.
4 - السيد باتاراي (نيبال): قال إن على المجتمع الدولي أن يعيد تأكيد التزامه بحقوق الشعوب الأصلية، لأنها تستحق التمتع بمستقبل أفضل وحياة كريمة.
