During the meeting, the Council heard two briefings, one by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq, Staffan de Mistura, who presented the latest report of the Secretary-General pursuant to resolution 1770 (2007) on the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) (S/2008/19), and the other by the Permanent Representative of the United States, Zalmay Khalilzad, on behalf of the multinational force in Iraq.
