2. The Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, and Relating to the Adoption of an Additional Distinctive Emblem (Protocol III), was approved by the Legislative Assembly in December 2007 and the instrument of ratification is likely to be deposited in the near future.

In accordance with the provisions of international humanitarian law instruments, the Russian Federation is carrying out work on their implementation and on the dissemination of knowledge about international humanitarian law.

1. On 7 December 2006, Turkey signed the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and relating to the Adoption of an Additional Distinctive Emblem (Protocol III), adopted at the diplomatic conference held in Geneva from 5 to 8 December 2005.

10. The Republic of Korea signed the Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, and Relating to the Adoption of an Additional Distinctive Emblem (Additional Protocol III) (2005) on 2 August 2006, and will shortly begin the ratification procedure.
