The Agreement reached by the two presidential candidates and the inauguration of President Ghani and his appointment of Mr. Abdullah as Chief Executive Officer were welcomed in Afghanistan and by the international community, amidst concerns for the increasingly heavy political, security and economic toll of the protracted electoral process.
