81. The Special Committee also encourages the Secretary-General to continue to work, in consultation with OAU and its member States, to reinforce African capacity to participate in peace-keeping, notably through technical assistance and the training of personnel, logistical support and mobilization of financial assistance.
٨١ - وتشجع اللجنة الخاصة أيضا اﻷمين العام على مواصلة العمل، بالتشاور مع منظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية والدول اﻷعضاء فيها، على تعزيز القدرات اﻷفريقية على المشاركة في حفظ السلام، ولا سيما من خلال المساعدة التقنية وتدريب اﻷفراد والدعم السوقي وتعبئة المساعدات المالية.

14. The Security Council, by its resolution 1020 (1995), requested UNOMIL to observe and verify the election process, in consultation with OAU and ECOWAS, including the legislative and presidential elections to be held in accordance with the provisions of the peace agreement.
١٤- طلب مجلس اﻷمن في قراره ١٠٢٠ )١٩٩٥( الى بعثة المراقبين أن تراقب عملية الانتخابات وتتحقق منها بالتشاور مع منظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية والجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا، بما في ذلك الانتخابات التشريعية والرئاسية المقرر اجراؤها وفقا ﻷحكام اتفاق السلام.

708. As the situation remained serious, the Security Council in its resolution 1040 (1996) of 29 January requested me, in consultation with OAU and Member States concerned, to consider further preventive steps, to develop contingency plans as appropriate and to submit a full report on the results of the technical mission and on contingency planning.
٨٧٠ - ونظرا لبقاء الحالة على خطورتها، طلب مني مجلس اﻷمن، في قراره ١٠٤٠ )١٩٩٦( المؤرخ ٢٩ كانون الثاني/يناير، أن أقوم، بالتشاور مع منظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية ومع الدول اﻷعضاء المعنية، بالنظر في اتخاذ خطــوات وقائية أخرى، ووضع خطط للطوارئ حسب ما يقتضيه الحال، وتقديم تقرير كامل عن نتائج البعثة الفنية وعن التخطيط للطوارئ.
