A platform for dialogue was provided through a series of sessions and conferences of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Integration and its subsidiary bodies: the Teams of Specialists on Innovation and Competitiveness Policies, on Intellectual Property and on Public-Private Partnerships.

In that regard, one delegate called on UNCTAD, and in particular its Unit on Economic Cooperation and Integration Among Developing Countries, to look closely into the existing interregional frameworks of cooperation and partnership among developing countries in order to increase their effectiveness as engines for economic development.

Programmes of MULPOCs: CPC recommended that the Secretary-General should identify those activities relating to Economic Cooperation and Integration that could be reoriented and focused wholly on subregional objectives and priorities, as set out by economic subregional groupings, and should submit appropriate recommendations to the General Assembly at its forty-seventh session.

4. The Commission also requested the Executive Secretary to convene in 2015 the intergovernmental open-ended preparatory meetings for the second Ministerial Conference on Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration in Asia and the Pacific and to convene the second Ministerial Conference in 2015 to review progress on the agenda for regional economic integration outlined in the Bangkok Declaration.

16.11 (a) Substantive progress was made at the national, subregional and regional levels in the emplacement of the various institutional arrangements required for the establishment of the African Economic Community through the ECA advocacy programmes to sensitize African countries and their intergovernmental organizations to issues of Economic Cooperation and Integration.
