In its operative part, the draft resolution takes note of efforts undertaken in this regard at the regional and subregional level, as well as by the United Nations.

16. In 2003, CERD was particularly concerned about the occurrence of sporadic violent ethnic conflicts in Ghana and welcomed the efforts undertaken in this regard.
