RECALLING that the United Nations General Assembly resolution A/RES/59/24 on Oceans and the Law of the Sea, while addressing the issues relating to maritime safety and security and the marine environment, has, inter alia:

The Summit of Heads of State and Government on maritime safety and security in the Gulf of Guinea, held in Yaoundé on 24 and 25 June 2013, adopted a declaration on safety and security in the common maritime space, known as the Yaoundé Declaration.
وأثناء مؤتمر قمة رؤساء الدول والحكومات المتعلق بالسلامة والأمن البحريين في خليج غينيا المعقود في ياوندي، يومي 24 و 25 حزيران/يونيه 2013، اعتُمِد إعلان بشأن السلامة والأمن في المجال البحري المشترك، أُطلق عليه اسم ' ' إعلان ياوندي``.

UNOWA also attended the validation meeting in Yaoundé of the interregional coordination centre provided for in the memorandum of understanding among ECOWAS, the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and the Commission of the Gulf of Guinea on maritime safety and security adopted at the summit meeting held in Yaoundé in June 2013.
وحضر المكتب أيضا في ياوندي اجتماع التصديق الذي عقده مركز التنسيق الأقاليمي المنصوص عليه في مذكرة التفاهم بين الجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا والجماعة الاقتصادية لدول وسط أفريقيا ولجنة خليج غينيا المعنية بالسلامة والأمن البحريين التي اعتُمدت في اجتماع القمة الذي عُقد في حزيران/يونيه 2013 في ياوندي.

UNOCA also supported the efforts of ECCAS, the Commission of the Gulf of Guinea and ECOWAS, in collaboration with UNOWA, in the holding of a series of meetings of the interregional working group, in May and June 2014, to operationalize the Interregional Coordination Centre on maritime safety and security in the Gulf of Guinea.
وقدم المكتبُ الدعم أيضا للجهود التي تبذلها الجماعة الاقتصادية لدول وسط أفريقيا ولجنة خليج غينيا والجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا، بالتعاون مع مكتب الأمم المتحدة لغرب أفريقيا، في عقد سلسلة من اجتماعات الفريق العامل الأقاليمي في شهري أيار/مايو وحزيران/يونيه 2014 من أجل تفعيل مركز التنسيق الأقاليمي فيما يتعلق بالسلامة والأمن البحريين في خليج غينيا.
