1. The present note provides information on the submission of the final report of the Secretary-General on the study on violence against children at the sixty-first session of the General Assembly and follow-up events that have taken place in 2006.

Commending the engagement of the Special Representative on Violence against Children in the development and adoption of the model strategies on the elimination of Violence against Children in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice, she asked whether any concrete plans had been made to follow up on the dissemination and implementation of those model strategies and how international partners could contribute.
وأشادت بمشاركة الممثلة الخاصة المعنية بالعنف ضد الأطفال في وضع واعتماد الاستراتيجيات النموذجية للقضاء على العنف ضد الأطفال في مجال منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية، مُستفسرة عما إذا كانت أي خطط ملموسة قد وُضعت لمتابعة نشر وتنفيذ هذه الاستراتيجيات النموذجية، وعن كيفية مساهمة الشركاء الدوليين في ذلك.

The Secretary-General announced the appointment of the Special Representative on Violence against Children in May 2009 and the Special Representative initiated her functions in September of the same year.
وأعلن الأمين العام تعيين ممثلة خاصة معنية بالعنف ضد الأطفال في أيار/مايو 2009، وبدأت الممثلة الخاصة مهامها في أيلول/سبتمبر من السنة نفسها.

UNODC cooperated with UNICEF, OHCHR and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children in developing draft model strategies and practical measures for the elimination of Violence against Children in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 68/189.

26. Decisive progress has been made in this area, with the growing institutionalization of regional governance mechanisms and the adoption of political commitments concerning Violence against Children in eight regions.
26 - وقد تحقق تقدم حاسم في هذا المجال حيث ازداد إضفاء الطابع المؤسسي على آليات الحوكمة الإقليمية وقطع التزامات سياسية تتعلق بالعنف ضد الأطفال في ثماني مناطق().

This included cooperation with UNODC on Violence against Children in the justice system, during the thematic debate held by the Human Rights Council, and with UN-Women on gender-based violence and the legal protection of girls from violence and harmful practices, during the Commission on the Status of Women and in the lead-up to the International Day of the Girl Child.
وذلك شمل التعاون مع مكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة فيما يتعلق بالعنف ضد الأطفال في نظام العدالة، خلال المناقشة المواضعية التي عقدها مجلس حقوق الإنسان، ومع هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة فيما يتعلق بالعنف الجنساني والحماية القانونية للفتيات من العنف والممارسات الضارة، أثناء دورة لجنة وضع المرأة وفي الفترة السابقة للاحتفال باليوم الدولي للفتاة.

90. The collaboration with human rights treaty bodies and mechanisms continued to feature highly on the Special Representative's agenda to capitalize on synergies across mandates and to mainstream concerns on Violence against Children in all relevant mandates.
90- وقد ظلّ التعاون مع هيئات ومعاهدات حقوق الإنسان وآلياتها مسألة تتصدر جدول أعمال الممثلة الخاصة، وذلك من أجل الإفادة من علاقات التآزر القائمة بين الولايات وتعميم الشواغل المتعلقة بالعنف ضد الأطفال في جميع الولايات ذات الصلة.

Takes note with appreciation of Human Rights Council resolution 25/6 of 27 March 2014 on the rights of the child: access to justice for children, and recalls in this regard the thematic report entitled " Promoting restorative justice for children " , issued by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children in 2013;
27 - تحيط علما مع التقدير بقرار مجلس حقوق الإنسان 25/6 المؤرخ 27 نيسان/أبريل 2014 بشأن حقوق الطفل: الوصول إلى العدالة للأطفال، وتشير أيضا في هذا الصدد إلى التقرير المواضيعي الذي أصدرته الممثلة الخاصة للأمين العام المعنية بالعنف ضد الأطفال في عام 2013 بعنوان ' ' تعزيز العدالة الإصلاحية من أجل الأطفال``؛

Also welcomes the global programme on Violence against Children in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice recently developed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the United Nations Children's Fund, and encourages Member States and other relevant stakeholders to support and to benefit from this programme;

In his capacity as commissioner and special rapporteur on child rights of the InterAmerican Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) of the Organization of the American States, the independent expert participated in hearings on topics concerning Violence against Children in countries of Central and South America, convened during the 123rd regular session of the IACHR.

UN-Women will also coordinate the development and monitoring of agreed indicators on Security Council resolution 1325 (2000) on women, peace and security and will complement the work of the Offices of the Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Children and Armed Conflict and the Special Representative on Violence against Children in any of those areas.
