It is clear that investigation into the mass graves will be difficult and time-consuming, and presupposes the existence of necessary data, including accurate lists and database containing all details required for DNA examinations, and coordination between the various teams, forensic and others, that carry out work in relation to mass graves.

(a) The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to dispatch a forensic team without delay to investigate mass graves and other evidence of atrocities in Sierra Leone that will be important for the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Special Court;
(أ) أن تطلب إلى مفوضية الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان أن تُرسل، دون إبطاء، فريق طب شرعي للتحقيق في الأدلة المتعلقة بالقبور الجماعية وغير ذلك من الأدلة على ارتكاب الفظائع في سيراليون والتي ستكون ذات أهمية لعمل لجنة الحقيقة والمصالحة والمحكمة الخاصة؛

45. Given the enormity of the task and the deteriorating security situation which greatly impedes work on the mass graves, the CPA Office of Human Rights and Transitional Justice, in cooperation with international and nongovernmental organizations, as well as with the involvement of the Iraqi leadership, adopted a number of measures to tackle this problem, which could be summarized as follows:
45- ونظراً لجسامة المهمة ولتدهور الحالة الأمنية التي تعوق العمل إلى حد كبير فيما يتعلق بالقبور الجماعية، فقد اعتمدت سلطة التحالف المؤقتة ومكتب حقوق الإنسان والقضاء الانتقالي، بالتعاون مع منظمات دولية وغير حكومية، وكذلك بمشاركة من القيادة العراقية، عدداً من التدابير لمواجهة هذه المشكلة والتي يمكن تلخيصها على النحو التالي:

75. In July 2007, Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) followed up its previous mission by jointly undertaking with UNAMA and the Ministry of the Interior's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), a preliminary assessment of a mass grave discovered in Dasht-i-Chamtala in the north-west outskirts of Kabul, and an assessment of the overall situation regarding mass graves in Afghanistan.
75- وفي تموز/يوليه 2007، تابعت جمعية الأطباء المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان بعثتها السابقة، وأجرت، في إطار التعاون مع بعثة الأمم المتحدة لتقديم المساعدة إلى أفغانستان وإدارة التحقيقات الجنائية التابعة لوزارة الداخلية، فحصاً أولياً لقبر جماعي عُثر عليه في داشت إي شمتالا في ضواحي كابول الشمالية الغربية، وتقييماً للحالة العامة فيما يتصل بالقبور الجماعية في أفغانستان.
