It contains a chapter presenting general information about the State, including its demographic characteristics and constitutional, political and legal structure; the general framework for the protection and promotion of human rights, with account for international norms and the national legal framework; the framework for the promotion of human rights at the national level; and the reporting process in Nicaragua.

As regards general information on Iceland and its people, Iceland's Constitution and administration, the power to resolve whether human rights have been violated, and the applicability of international human rights conventions under national law, reference is made to the basic information contained in document HRI/CORE/1/Add.26, as these aspects remain unchanged if no particular observations are made to the contrary herein.
وفيما يتعلق بالمعلومات العامة عن آيسلندا وشعبها، فإن دستور آيسلندا وادارتها، وسلطة تقرير ما اذا كانت حقوق اﻹنسان قد انتهكت، ومدى تطبيق الاتفاقيات الدولية لحقوق اﻹنسان بمقتضى القانون الوطني، فاننا نشير الى المعلومات اﻷساسية الواردة في الوثيقة (HRI/CORE/1/Add.26)، نظراً ﻷن هذه الجوانب لم يطرأ عليها تغيير، ما لم ترد ملاحظات خاصة بعكس ذلك في هذه الوثيقة.

29. Regarding a letter from WHO drawing the Committee's attention to the malaria control situation in Iraq, the Committee, at its 150th meeting, on 21 February 1997, agreed to take note of the general information provided by WHO in its communication and to give priority treatment to any specific requests relating to malaria control once they were submitted to the Committee.
٢٩ - وفيما يتعلق برسالة وردت من منظمة الصحة العالمية تسترعي فيها انتباه اللجنة إلى حالة مكافحة الملاريا في العراق، اتفقت اللجنة في جلستها ١٥٠، المعقودة في ٢١ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٧، على أن تحيط علما بالمعلومات العامة التي قدمتها المنظمة في رسالتها، وأن تعطي اﻷولوية لمعالجة أي طلبات محددة متصلة بمكافحة الملاريا بمجرد تقديمها إلى اللجنة.

2. Concerning the part of the report on general information to be provided in accordance with the consolidated guidelines for the initial part of the reports of States parties under the various international human rights instruments, including the Covenant (HRI/CORE/1, annex), the members of the Committee are requested to consult the core document on Spain.
