15. The Working Group noted the proposal to convert the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on toxic waste into that of Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment.

The Chairperson highlighted the case of Bophal in India, the problem of pollution and the international trade in toxic wastes that is particularly harmful for people living in developing countries - particularly in Africa and Latin America.
