89. The Committee notes with satisfaction the State party's ratification of ILO Convention No. 138 concerning the minimum age for the admission to employment and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.

At the regional level, Chad is bound by the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights (1986) and the Protocol Establishing an African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights (1986), the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (2000) and the Organization of African Unity's Convention governing the Specific Aspects of Refugee Problems in Africa (1981).

This year, the Day of the African Child offered an opportunity for linking advocacy activities with a review of progress made in achieving the intermediate goals for children enumerated in " The Consensus of Dakar " , as well as with implementation of national programmes of action, ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and with the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.
وفي هذه السنة، أتاح يوم الطفل الافريقي الفرصة للربط بين أنشطة الدعوة وبين استعراض ما أحرز من تقدم في تحقيق اﻷهداف المتوسطة الوارد ذكرها في " توافق آراء داكار " فيما يتعلق بالطفل، وذلك علاوة على تنفيذ برامج العمل الوطنية، والتصديق على اتفاقية اﻷمم المتحدة المتعلقة بحقوق الطفل، والميثاق الافريقي الخاص بحقوق الطفل ورفاهيته.
