3. Outreach and awareness-raising on the application of the guidelines for the national adaptation plans

21. The LEG decided to develop the paper and disseminate it to various stakeholders in order to inform the design and provision of support to the LDCs on NAPs.

The regional training workshops on NAPs will enhance the capacity of LDCs to address medium- and long-term adaptation needs through the formulation and implementation of NAPs.

This report provides a summary of the expert meeting on national adaptation plans (NAPs) that was held in Vientiane, Lao People's Democratic Republic, on 15 - 17 September 2011.

The first meeting of the NAP task force took place on the margins of the 5th meeting of the Adaptation Committee.

Following the review, the Adaptation Committee agreed that there was no need for the Adaptation Committee to develop a separate database but that it would instead actively engage in and contribute to the development of NAP Central, so that information on national adaptation planning relevant to non-LDCs is included.

4. Supporting the national adaptation plan process though NAP Central

The LEG also noted that access to the content in NAP Central will take into account the necessary privacy requirements.
وأشار فريق الخبراء أيضاً إلى أن الوصول إلى محتويات مركز المعلومات الخاص بخطط التكيف الوطنية سيضع في الاعتبار المتطلبات المتعلقة بالخصوصية.

94. The SBI welcomed the initiation of discussions on the matter of national adaptation plans.

Guidance in respect of national adaptation plans was provided by the Conference of the Parties through agreement on a process to enable least developed countries to formulate and implement such plans, an invitation to developing countries that are not least developed countries to employ the modalities for them, and agreement on reporting, monitoring and evaluation with regard to the national adaptation plan process.
