Mr. Prado Vallejo had vast experience that gave him a profound grasp of human rights: he had been a university professor, a journalist, a minister, and he had even been arrested and placed in secret confinement.
وأضاف أن المرحوم برادو فاليخو اكتسب خبرة كبيرة سمحت له بالتعمق في فهم حقوق الإنسان، إذ إنه كان أستاذاً جامعياً وصحفياً ووزيراً، بل عرف السجن ومُنع من مخالطة غيره من السجناء.

3. Mr. ANDO said that Mr. Prado Vallejo symbolized the two generations of the Committee, the old and the new, as well as two forms of work.
3- السيد أندو قال إن السيد برادو فاليخو يرمز إلى جيلين للجنة، القديم والحديث، وكذلك إلى شكلين من أشكال عمل اللجنة.

Mr. Prado Vallejo had been devoted to the tireless promotion of human rights. His country would remember his profound dedication to democracy and those who had known him would retain an undying memory of him, replete with anecdotes.

6. The CHAIRPERSON joined her colleagues in rendering tribute to Julio Prado Vallejo.

For the Committee, Mr. Prado Vallejo would forever be the Chairman of the transition at the end of the Cold War; he had embodied all the qualities required to make that transition successful.
