5. Commends the Government of Lebanon for taking steps to ensure the return of its effective authority throughout the south, including the deployment of Lebanese armed forces, and calls on it to continue to extend these measures and to do its utmost to ensure a calm environment throughout the south;
5 - يثنـي على حكومة لبنان لاتخـاذها خطوات لضمان إعادة بسط سلطتها الفعلية على كافة أرجاء الجنوب، بما في ذلك نشر القـوات المسلحة اللبنانية، ويطلب إليها مواصلة توسيع نطاق تلك التدابير وبذل كل ما في وسعها لكفالة الهدوء في جميع أرجاء الجنوب؛

3. In its resolution 425 (1978), the Security Council entrusted UNIFIL with the mandate of confirming the withdrawal of Israeli forces, restoring international peace and security and assisting the Government of Lebanon in ensuring the return of its effective authority in the area of operations.
٣ - عهدت الى قوة اﻷمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان الولاية المتعلقة بالتأكد من انسحاب القوات اﻹسرائيلية، وإعادة السلم واﻷمن الدوليين ومساعدة حكومة لبنان في كفالة إعادة بسط سلطتها الفعلية في منطقة العمليات، وذلك من قبل مجلس اﻷمن في قراره ٤٢٥ )١٩٧٨(.

4. In accordance with Security Council resolutions 425 (1978) and 426 (1978) of 19 March 1978, the mandate of the Force consists of three parts: (a) to confirm the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon; (b) to restore international peace and security; and (c) to assist the Government of Lebanon in ensuring the return of its effective authority in the area.
