IPU regularly submits information on the representation of women in the parliaments of the States parties under consideration and organizes regular capacity-building sessions for parliamentarians on the Convention and its Optional Protocol.

Following that event, IPU organized an information seminar on the Convention and its Optional Protocol for Parliamentarians at its Geneva headquarters in October 2003, with the assistance of the Division for the Advancement of Women.

In April 2003, the Special Adviser had addressed the 108th Conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Santiago, Chile, where she had also launched the Handbook for Parliamentarians on the Convention and its Optional Protocol that had been jointly prepared by the Division for the Advancement of Women and IPU.

15. The Programme for the Protection, Rehabilitation and Social Inclusion of the Disabled and Their Families includes a strategy for advising and informing on disability, in particular through talks for the disabled and their families on the Convention and its Optional Protocol, given at the rehabilitation centres attached to the National System for Comprehensive Development of the Family (SNDIF).
15- وينفذ برنامج وقاية وإعادة تأهيل الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة وأُسرهم وإدماجهم الاجتماعي استراتيجية للتوجيه والإعلام بخصوص الإعاقة، ولا سيما بإتاحة فرص للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة وأُسرهم للتحاور بشأن الاتفاقية وبروتوكولها الاختياري في مراكز إعادة التأهيل الموجودة في البلد والتابعة للمنظومة الوطنية للتنمية المتكاملة للأسرة.

Pursuant to the request of the General Assembly in its resolution 62/170 to United Nations agencies and organizations to continue to disseminate accessible information, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs and OHCHR prepared frequently asked questions on the Convention and its Optional Protocol, as well as on the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the related answers, and made them available on their websites.
