83. ESCAP implemented various population activities in line with the recommendations of the Bali Declaration on Population and Sustainable Development and the Programme of Action of the ICPD.

As the Port Vila Declaration on Population and Sustainable Development from our region articulates, population concerns can be just as real for those living in countries with small populations as they are for those in countries with large populations.

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized in November 1995 the first session of the Inter-organization Subcommittee on Population and Development in Asia and the Pacific, aimed at implementing the Bali Declaration on Population and Sustainable Development and the ICPD Programme of Action.

48. In November 1995 ESCAP organized the first session of the Interorganization Subcommittee on Population and Development in Asia and the Pacific, aimed at implementing the Bali Declaration on Population and Sustainable Development and the Programme of Action of the ICPD.
