126. The expert submits the following recommendations on landmines and unexploded ordnance:

The amended Protocol II on landmines does not ban anti-personnel mines and does not go as far as we and many others would have wished in the area of interim protection for civilians.
فالبروتوكول الثاني المعدل بشأن اﻷلغام البرية لا يحظر اﻷلغام المضادة لﻷفراد ولا يصل إلى المستوى الذي نوده نحن وكثيرون آخرون في مجال توفير الحماية للمدنيين.

For this reason, the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons with its four Protocols, including its recently amended protocol on landmines and a new protocol on blinding laser weapons, figures on the information sheet.

In the meantime, until the review gets under way, we would encourage dialogue on land-mines issues between interested States, and we support proposals to establish a group of experts to facilitate discussions in the run-up to the conference.

Tightening the international rules on land-mines is part of concerted efforts by the international community to deal with the tragedies caused by these weapons.

وفي المؤتمر الاستعراضي للدول اﻷطراف في اتفاقية حظر أو تقييد استعمال أسلحة تقليدية معينة يمكن اعتبارها مفرطة الضرر أو عشوائية اﻷثر، الذي اختتم مؤخرا في فيينا، أبدت بولندا تأييدها الراسخ للجهود الرامية الى تعزيز الاتفاقية، وخاصة بروتوكولها الثاني بشأن اﻷلغام البرية.
