1. In its Final Document, the 2000 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) agreed that all States parties should submit regular reports within the framework of the strengthened review process on the implementation of article VI.

(b) Despite differences in the interpretation of " nuclear weapons capabilities " as well as in the depth and level of detail, nuclear-weapon States have exercised transparency in their statements and reports on the implementation of article VI. Nuclear disarmament will further strengthen the trust among NPT States Parties if it is accompanied by transparency measures.
