The Committee urges the State party to enforce its legislation on gender equality, and to take all effective measures, including through the use of media and education, to overcome the traditional stereotypes regarding the status of women in the public and private spheres and to ensure, in practice, equality between men and women in all fields of life, as provided for in articles 2, paragraph 2, and 3 of the Covenant.
تحث اللجنة الدولة الطرف على إنفاذ تشريعاتها المتعلقة بالمساواة بين الجنسين وعلى اتخاذ جميع التدابير الفعالة، بما في ذلك عن طريق وسائل الإعلام والتثقيف، للقضاء على المواقف النمطية التقليدية بشأن مركز المرأة في المجالين العام والخاص، ولضمان تحقيق المساواة بين الرجل والمرأة عملياً في شتى مجالات الحياة، على نحو ما تنصّ عليه الفقرة 2 من المادة 2 والمادة 3 من العهد.

The European committee is intended to work for greater involvement by women in the sciences in the EU countries and to act in an advisory capacity on the position of women in science and research.

10. Requests the Secretary-General to report on progress made on the status of women in the Secretariat to the Commission on the Status of Women at its forty-first session and to the General Assembly at its fifty-second session.

It held an in-depth exchange on the status of women in the secretariats, based on a background paper that had been prepared jointly by the Focal Point on Women in the Secretariat and the secretariats of the International Civil Service Commission and the Consultative Committee on Administrative Questions.

1. In its resolution 51/67 of 12 December 1996, the General Assembly requested that an update on the status of women in the Secretariat be submitted to the Commission on the Status of Women at its forty-first session.
١ - طلبت الجمعيــة العامة، في قرارها ٥١/٦٧ المؤرخ ١٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٦، أن يُقدﱠم الـى لجنـة مركز المرأة، في دورتها الحادية واﻷربعين، تقرير عن التقدم المحرز بشأن مركز المرأة في اﻷمانة العامة.

The Committee calls upon the State party to adopt a gender equality law and to take all effective measures, including through the use of media and education, to overcome the traditional stereotypes regarding the status of women in the public and private spheres and to ensure in practice equality between men and women in all walks of life, as provided for in article 2, paragraph 2, and article 3 of the Covenant.
487- وتدعو اللجنة الدولة الطرف إلى اعتماد قانون بشأن المساواة بين الجنسين، وإلى اتخاذ كافة التدابير الفعالة، بما في ذلك عن طريق وسائل الإعلام والتعليم، للقضاء على الأفكار النمطية التقليدية بشأن مركز المرأة في المجالين العام والخاص، وضمان المساواة بين الرجال والنساء عملياً في شتى مجالات الحياة، على نحو ما تنصّ عليه الفقرة 2 من المادة 2 والمادة 3 من العهد.

The ministry published a report in March 2002, Konur í vísindum á Íslandi ( " Women in Science in Iceland " ) presenting statistics on the position of women in the sciences in Iceland, with a particular focus on women working for public bodies.
ونشرت الوزارة في آذار/مارس 2002 تقرير " المرأة في العلوم في أيسلندا " ، الذي يقدم إحصائيات بشأن مركز المرأة في العلوم في أيسلندا مع التركيز بصفة خاصة على النساء العاملات في الهيئات العامة.

Technical support and resources were provided for the preparation of national reports in over 25 countries, which provided the impetus for a publication on trends in the status of women in Africa.
