With this in mind, we are actively participating in the work of the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG).

On the issue of Georgia's Abkhazia region alone, nine Security Council resolutions have been adopted, numerous missions have been dispatched and the mandate of the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG) has been extended.

As a neighbouring country, Turkey follows very closely developments in Georgia. We look forward to the restoration of peaceful conditions in that friendly country and stand prepared to participate in the concerted international action within the framework of the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia.

وقد أثر استفحال حالة اﻷلغام البرية في منطقة صراع اﻷبخاز منذ أوائل شهر آذار/مارس على السلامة وعلى اﻷحوال اﻷمنية للسكان المحليين وللاجئين والمشردين، وكذلك للعاملين في حفظ السلام في رابطة الدول المستقلة، وﻷفراد بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة للمراقبة في جورجيا.

4. To instruct the parties to the conflict, with the assistance of the Collective Peace-keeping Forces in the conflict zone in Abkhazia, Georgia, to take additional measures to ensure the safety of the personnel of the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia in the performance of their duties.
٤ - تكليف أطراف النزاع بأن تقوم، بالتعاون مع القوات الجماعية لحفظ السلام في منطقة النزاع في أبخازيا، جورجيا، باتخاذ تدابير إضافية لضمان سلامة أفراد بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة للمراقبة في جورجيا أثناء أدائهم لمهامهم.

2. Decides to establish a United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG) in accordance with the above-mentioned report comprising up to eighty-eight military observers, plus minimal staff necessary to support UNOMIG, with the following mandate:
٢ - يقرر إنشاء بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة للمراقبة في جورجيا وفقا للتقرير المشار إليه أعلاه، على أن تتألف من عدد يصل إلى ثمانية وثمانين مراقبا عسكريا، باﻹضافة الى موظفين يكون عددهم عند الحد اﻷدنى اللازم لدعم البعثة، وتكون للبعثة الولاية التالية:

I shall submit, as soon as possible, an addendum to the present report stating the financial implications of the extension of UNOMIG's mandate.
وسأقدم، في أقرب وقت ممكن، اضافة لهذا التقرير تبين اﻵثار المالية المترتبة على تمديد ولاية بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة للمراقبة في جورجيا.
