Dubai Municipality and UN-Habitat have made a commitment to focusing on best practice transfers for the next ten years.

The Dubai Municipality continues to fund the Dubai Award for Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment, while the Government of Spain funds the Latin American and Caribbean forum on best practices.

34. The Best Practices and Local Leadership Programme is a global network of institutions, with an international award programme established in 1995 by the Municipality of Dubai.
34 - برنامج أفضل الممارسات والقيادة المحلية هو شبكة عالمية من المؤسسات لها برنامج دولي للجوائز أنشأته بلدية دبي في عام 1995.

UN-HABITATUN-Habitat collaborated with the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities (OICC) and with the Municipality of Dubai, in organizing the eighth 8th International Scientific Symposium, entitled " Sustainable Urban Management Strategies in the Islamic City. "
وتعاون الموئل مع منظمة العواصم والمدن الإسلامية ومع بلدية دبي في تنظيم الندوة العلمية الثامنة المعنونة " استراتيجيات الإدارة الحضرية المستدامة في المدن الإسلامية " .

A primary force in generating national and local interest in best practices has been the Dubai conference on best practices held in November 1995, and co-sponsored by the Municipality of Dubai and UNCHS (Habitat).
وكان من بين القوى اﻷساسية المحركة للاهتمام الوطني والمحلي بأفضل الممارسات مؤتمر دبي المعني بأفضل الممارسات الذي عقد في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ٥٩٩١ وشارك في رعايته بلدية دبي ومؤتمر اﻷمم المتحدة للمستوطنات البشرية )الموئل(.

The resolution, in recognizing the progress made by UN-Habitat in its work on best practices and the contribution of the Municipality of Dubai in the implementation of the Dubai International Award on Best Practices, encouraged the Executive Director, in cooperation with Governments, to examine modalities for making resources available in support of the transfer of best practices, good urban policies and enabling legislation.
