7. In a radio address on 19 December 2006, President Gbagbo announced a new initiative, offering to open direct dialogue with the Forces nouvelles under the auspices of the President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaoré.

" The Council supports the efforts of the Economic Community of West African States, which issued communiqués on 27 and 29 March 2012, and commends the work of President Blaise Compaoré, as the facilitator of the Economic Community, in promoting the return to full civilian authority and the effective reestablishment of constitutional order in Mali.

Taking note also of President Ouattara's request that President Blaise Compaoré of Burkina Faso ( " the Facilitator " ), continue to assist the Government of Côte d'Ivoire in implementing the unfinished aspects of the peace process and the Ouagadougou Agreements,

It commends President Blaise Compaoré of Burkina Faso for his mediation efforts and welcomes the communiqués issued on 26 January 2010 by the International Contact Group on Guinea and on 3 February 2010 by the African Union summit.

2. Welcomes the signing, on 26 March 2007, of the Additional Agreement between President Laurent Gbagbo and Guillaume Soro, Secretary-General of the Force Nouvelles, under the aegis of President Blaise Compaoré of Burkina Faso, Current Chairperson of ECOWAS, through which the signatory parties have decided to designate Guillaume Soro as the new Prime Minister.
