In its resolution 2007/8 of 25 July 2007, the Economic and Social Council requested the Commission to undertake a number of activities related to the follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society at the regional and international levels.

In its resolution 2008/3 of 18 July 2008, the Economic and Social Council called upon the international community, Governments, United Nations entities and all WSIS stakeholders to undertake a number of activities related to the follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society at the regional and international levels.
