69. Tunisia had agreed to host the second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society in 2005 because it was convinced that it would provide a forum for the elaboration of cooperation plans designed to reduce the digital divide.

The recommendations of the Tunis Phase of the World Summit on the Information Society should be followed up in that regard.
