وتظلّ اتفاقية عام 1951 والبروتوكول المتصل بوضع اللاجئين لعام 1967 يشكلان الدعامة الثابتة والمقبولة عالميا لحماية من اضطرتهم التهديدات الخطيرة لما لهم من حقوق الإنسان الأساسية في الحياة، والأمن، والحرية والكرامة، إلى مغادرة بلدانهم.

Secondly, some trafficked persons, particularly women and young girls, may in fact be considered refugees under the definition of the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees of 1951, as a result of their trafficking experience and the inability or unwillingness of their country of origin to afford them effective protection against such harm.
وثانياً، يمكن في الواقع اعتبار بعض الأشخاص المتاجر بهم، وبخاصة النساء والفتيات، لاجئين وفقاً للتعريف الوارد في الاتفاقية الخاصة بوضع اللاجئين لعام 1951، بفعل تعرضهم للاتجار وعدم قدرة بلد المنشأ على توفير حماية فعالة لهم من هذا الأذى، أو عدم رغبتها في ذلك.

(g) Counter-trafficking measures do not negatively impact on regular migrants or the rights of refugees under the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees of 1951.
(ز) ألا تؤثر تدابير مكافحة الاتجار تأثيراً سلبياً على المهاجرين النظاميين أو على حقوق اللاجئين القائمة بموجب الاتفاقية الخاصة بوضع اللاجئين لعام 1951.

Reaffirming, on the fiftieth anniversary of its adoption, the importance of the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees of 1951 and the Protocol thereto of 1967, and the critical role that they continue to play in protecting the rights of refugees throughout the world,
