The organization participated in an expert group meeting of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia held in Beirut on 29 and 30 April 2009 on the involvement of non-governmental organizations in the process of policymaking.
وشاركت المنظمة في اجتماع فريق للخبراء تابع للجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا المعقود في بيروت يومي 29 و 30 نيسان/أبريل 2009 عن مشاركة المنظمات غير الحكومية في عملية صنع السياسات.

1. Approves the draft programme of work and priorities of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia for the biennium 1998-1999, in accordance with the guidelines contained in the report of the Technical Committee of the Commission on the work of its tenth session, held at Beirut on 5 and 6 May 1997;
١ - يعتمد مشروع برنامج عمل اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا وأولوياتها لفترة السنتــين ٨٩٩١-٩٩٩١، وفقا للمبادئ التوجيهية الواردة في تقرير اللجنة التقنية التابعة للجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية عن أعمال دورتها العاشرة التي عقدت في بيروت يومي ٥ و ٦ أيار/ مايو ٧٩٩١؛

The 21st ministerial biennial session of ESCWA, held in Beirut on 10 and 11 May 2001, concentrated on the need to strengthen and prepare the ESCWA countries to shoulder the challenges of globalization.
وخلال الدورة الحاديـــة والعشرين من الدورات الوزارية التي تعقدها اللجنة كل سنتين والتي انعقدت في بيروت يومي 10 و 11 أيار/مايو 2001، جرى التركيز على ضرورة تدعيم أركان بلدان اللجنة وتحضيرها للتصدي لتحديات العولمة.

The Ministerial Council studied the situation between Kuwait and Iraq in the light of the resolutions adopted by the Supreme Council at its previous sessions and the positive outcome of the Arab Summit Conference held in Beirut on 27 and 28 March 2002 which had contributed to the strengthening of regional security and cooperation.
تدارس المجلس الوزاري الحالة بين الكويت والعراق في ضوء القرارات التي اتخذها المجلس الأعلى في دوراته السابقة والنتائج الإيجابية لمؤتمر القمة العربي الذي عُقد في بيروت يومي 27 و 28 آذار/مارس 2002، والتي تُسهم في تعزيز أمن المنطقة واستقرارها.

Another milestone was the Commission's first Arab Economics Forum, held in Beirut on 23 and 24 November 2012, which provided an avenue for researchers, prominent figures and policymakers in the region to develop new innovative macroeconomic policies for inclusive growth in the region.
وكان من بين الإنجازات الأخرى التي حققتها اللجنة المنتدى الاقتصادي العربي الأول، الذي عقد في بيروت يومي 23 و 24 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2012، والذي أتاح للباحثين والشخصيات البارزة وصناع القرار في المنطقة الفرصة لوضع سياسات اقتصاد كلي مبتكرة جديدة للنمو الشامل في المنطقة.

In response, ESCWA organized the Intergovernmental Consultative Meeting on the Water and Energy Nexus in the ESCWA Region, held in Beirut on 27 and 28 June 2012, for members of the two intergovernmental committees to discuss their views and perceptions regarding the water and energy nexus within the regional context.
واستجابة لهذه التوصية، نظمت الإسكوا الاجتماع الاستشاري الحكومي الدولي بشأن الصلة بين المياه والطاقة في منطقة الإسكوا الذي انعقد في بيروت يومي 27 و 28 حزيران/يونيه 2012، لكي يتناقش أعضاء هاتين اللجنتين الحكوميتين الدوليتين بشأن آرائهم ونظرتهم للصلة بين المياه والطاقة في السياق الإقليمي.

The Second Regional Review Meeting of the Madrid Plan of Action on Ageing was held in Beirut on 7 and 8 December 2011, and resulted in recommendations that provided the basis for developing a road map for full implementation of the Madrid Plan of Action (see E/ESCWA/SDD/2011/WG.8/2/ Report).
وعُقد اجتماع الاستعراض الإقليمي الثاني في بيروت يومي 7 و 8 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2011، الذي تمخض عن توصيات ترسخ لوضع خريطة الطريق تستهدف التنفيذ الكامل لخطة عمل مدريد (انظر E/ESCWA/SDD/2011/WG.8/2/Report).
