We appreciate the fact that the Secretary-General highlighted in his report such aspects of the ongoing cooperation between the United Nations and the OIC.

I would like to conclude my statement by expressing the hope and expectation that cooperation between the United Nations and the OIC will be swiftly enhanced in all areas of common concern, values and ideals.

Cooperation between the United Nations and the OIC may provide for some activities, including awareness-raising, encouraging Member States to take actions and alerting the media to the adverse impact of Islamophobia on peace and harmony at the international level.

In accordance with previous resolutions, contacts and interactions between the United Nations and the OIC and between our respective agencies and institutions will continue to be strengthened through the Islamic Group in New York and through a number of OIC contact groups and committees at the United Nations.
وامتثالا للقرارات السابقة فقد استمرت الاتصالات والتفاعلات بين الأمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي وبين الوكالات والمؤسسات التابعة للمنظمتين. وسيستمر تعزيزها من خلال المجموعة الإسلامية بنيويورك وعدد من اللجان ومجموعات الاتصال التابعة لمنظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي.

My delegation believes that, bearing in mind the importance of the Muslim world on the international scene and its capabilities to serve humanity's objectives, the consolidation of cooperation between the United Nations and the OIC would provide greater means to achieve our common objectives.
وبالنظر إلى أهمية المكانة التي يستأثر بها العالم الإسلامي على الساحة الدولية وما يتوفر عليه من قدرات لخدمة أهداف البشرية يعتبر وفد بلدي إن توطيد التعاون بين الأمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي سيعزز الوسائل المتاحة لنا لتحقيق أهدافنا المشتركة.

Given the ever-increasing importance of Islamic countries in the political, economic and social equations of today's world, we firmly believe that the expansion of cooperation between the United Nations and the OIC has become all the more instrumental for the maintenance of global peace and security.

In conclusion, my delegation wishes to extend its sincere appreciation to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Secretary-General of the OIC for their tireless efforts in forging the cooperation between the United Nations and OIC.

The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest and ways of further strengthening cooperation and coordination between the United Nations and OIC in the political field, as called for in General Assembly resolution 49/15 of 15 November 1994.
وبحث الجانبان القضايا محل الاهتمام المشترك، وسبل زيادة تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق بين اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي في الميدان السياسي، على النحو المطلوب في قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٩/١٥ المؤرخ ١٥ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ١٩٩٤.
