In the context of the Second World Assembly on Ageing, to be held in Spain in 2002, there is a decision to exchange views and information on national experience and best practices in designing and implementing policies and programmes on ageing, and to support research on the actual and projected situation of older persons, particularly in developing countries.

The mechanism I proposed — an ad hoc working group responsible for undertaking an exchange of views and information on the question of nuclear disarmament and exploring prospects which might help attain that objective — seemed to me to be a reasonable compromise which could meet with a favourable response from all delegations.

They refer to the Committee's jurisprudence, establishing that free dissemination of information and ideas not necessarily favourably received by the government or the majority of the population is a cornerstone of a democratic society. The authors respectively submit that the purpose of the meeting for which they had sought an authorization was to exchange views and information on the development of Belarus and its society;

Invites Governments, relevant organizations of the United Nations system, regional organizations and development partners to exchange views and share information on good policies and practices for mainstreaming social inclusion into social and economic policies at the national, regional and international levels aimed at achieving equity, equality, social inclusion, protection and cohesion, and recognizes existing efforts in this regard;

At its sixty-sixth session, the General Assembly encouraged Member States to mainstream social integration objectives into social inclusion policies, invited stakeholders to exchange views and share information on sound social inclusion policies and best practices, and requested the Secretary-General to submit a report on the implementation of the resolution at its sixty-eighth session (resolution 66/122).
