78. One of the most important principles that the Jordanian legislature has emphasized at the investigation stage is the assumption that the accused is innocent until proved guilty at a lawful trial (presumption of innocence). Jordanian law also recognizes other human rights at the preliminary investigation stage. These include:
٨٧- من أهم المبادئ التي ركز عليها المشَرﱢع اﻷردني في هذا المجال، وتحديداً في مرحلة التحقيق، افتراض أن المتهم بريء حتى تثبت إدانته في محاكمة قانونية )مبدأ اﻷصل في اﻹنسان البراءة(، كما نص المشرع اﻷردني على حقوق أخرى لﻹنسان في مرحلة التحقيق الابتدائي، ومنها:

116. The legislative basis for the above-mentioned principles is provided by article 19 of the current Constitution of the Republic of Iraq ( " The accused shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty at a fair legal trial " ).
116- إن الأساس التشريعي الذي يشتمل على ما ذكر في أعلاه هو المادة 19 من دستور جمهورية العراق النافذ (أن المتهم بريء حتى تثبت إدانته في محاكم قانونية عادلة).
