We reaffirm the call for the strict respect of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Government of Lebanon, as stipulated in Security Council resolution 1664 (2006) and 1680 (2006).

Resolution 1559 (2004) aims at strengthening the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Government of Lebanon throughout the country, in line with the Taif Agreement of 1989, to which all the political parties in Lebanon committed themselves.

The objective of resolution 1559 (2004) is to strengthen the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of its Government consistent with the Taif Accord of 1989, to which all the political parties in Lebanon have committed themselves.

Resolution 1559 (2004) is aimed at strengthening the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of its Government, consistent with the Taif Accord of 1989, to which all the political parties in Lebanon have committed themselves, and to which the Security Council has given its support in numerous presidential statements since then.

However, resolution 1559 (2004), and in particular its provisions calling for the disbanding and disarmament of all Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias and the strict respect of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Government, has yet to be implemented in full.
غير أن القرار 1559 (2004) لم ينفذ بعدُ تنفيذا كاملا، ولا سيما أحكامه الداعية إلى حل جميع المليشيات اللبنانية وغير اللبنانية ونزع سلاحها والاحترام التام لسيادة لبنان وسلامته الإقليمية ووحدته واستقلاله السياسي تحت السلطة الوحيدة والحصرية للحكومة.

Preventing breaches of the arms embargo imposed is a critical element for the achievement of full respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Government of Lebanon throughout the country, as called for in resolution 1559 (2004).
11 - ويعد منع حدوث خروقات للحظر المفروض على الأسلحة عنصرا حاسما في تحقيق الاحترام الكامل لسيادة لبنان وسلامة أراضيه ووحدته واستقلاله السياسي تحت السلطة الوحيدة والحصرية للحكومة اللبنانية في جميع أنحاء البلد، على النحو الذي يدعو إليه القرار 1559 (2004).

In my earlier reports, I stated that the Security Council in resolution 1559 (2004) placed central emphasis on the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Government of Lebanon throughout Lebanon, and that I assigned this matter the highest priority in my efforts to assist with the implementation of the resolution.
11 - لقد ذكرتُ، في تقاريري السابقة أن قرار مجلس الأمن 1559 (2004) يركز تركيزا جوهريا على سيادة لبنان وسلامة أراضيه ووحدته واستقلاله السياسي تحت السلطة الوحيدة والحصرية للحكومة اللبنانية في جميع أنحاء لبنان. وأنني أعطيت هذه المسألة أولوية عليا في جهودي الرامية إلى المساعدة على تنفيذ هذا القرار.

In earlier reports on the implementation of Security Council resolution 1559 (2004), I outlined that the resolution places central emphasis on the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Government of Lebanon throughout Lebanon, and that I assigned this matter the highest priority in my efforts to assist with the implementation of the resolution.

14. The delineation of the border between the Syrian Arab Republic and Lebanon remains an element of crucial importance to a number of explicit operational requirements of resolutions 1559 (2004) and 1680 (2006), which place central emphasis on the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Government of Lebanon throughout Lebanon.
