Australia again urges the Government of Iraq to cooperate with the Security Council in implementing those resolutions that would allow it to resume oil exports, so that the hardships that are evident among the civilian population can be addressed.

٤ - تحث حكومة العراق على التعاون مع اﻷمم المتحدة بغية ترتيب تصدير النفط من أجل شراء إمدادات غذائية وطبية أساسية لﻷغراض اﻹنسانية، وفق ما أذن به مجلس اﻷمن في قراره ٩٨٦ )١٩٩٥(؛

6. urges the Government of Iraq to release immediately all persons arbitrarily arrested and detained, to form an independent commission of inquiry and to take all necessary steps to cooperate closely with the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances to look into the fate of tens of thousands of disappeared persons;
٦- تحث حكومة العراق على الافراج فورا عن جميع اﻷشخاص المعتقلين والمحتجزين بصورة تعسفية وعلى إنشاء لجنة تحقيق مستقلة، وعلى اتخاذ كافة الخطوات الضرورية للتعاون بشكل وثيق مع الفريق العامل المعني بحالات الاختفاء القسري أو غير الطوعي لبحث مصير عشرات اﻵلاف من اﻷشخاص المختفين؛

9. urges the Government of Iraq to implement without further delay the recommendations made by the Special Rapporteur concerning the southern marsh area and its population, in particular to halt and to reverse the draining of the marshes and to receive a mission of recognized international experts to determine the effects on the population and the environment of these drainage projects;
٩- تحث حكومة العراق على القيام، بدون مزيد من التأخير، بتنفيذ توصيات المقرر الخاص بشأن منطقة اﻷهوار الجنوبية وسكانها، لا سيما وقف تجفيف اﻷهوار وإعادة المياه الى ما كانت عليه فيها، واستقبال بعثة من الخبراء الدوليين المعروفين لتحديد آثار مشروعات التصريف على السكان والبيئة؛

6. urges the Government of Iraq to set up an independent commission of inquiry and to take all necessary steps to cooperate closely with the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances to look into the fate of tens of thousands of disappeared persons;
٦- تحث حكومة العراق على إنشاء لجنة تحقيق مستقلة وعلى اتخاذ كافة الخطوات الضرورية للتعاون بشكل وثيق مع الفريق العامل المعني بحالات الاختفاء القسري أو غير الطوعي لبحث مصير عشرات اﻵلاف من اﻷشخاص المختفين؛

5. urges the Government of Iraq to cooperate with the United Nations with a view to ensuring the implementation of Security Council resolution 986 (1995), in accordance with the agreement reached in May 1996 that medicines, health supplies, foodstuffs and other humanitarian supplies purchased with the proceeds of the sale of Iraqi petroleum and petroleum products be distributed to the Iraqi population equitably and on a non-discriminatory basis;
٥ - تحث حكومة العراق على التعاون مع اﻷمم المتحدة بغية كفالة تنفيذ قرار مجلس اﻷمن ٩٨٦ )١٩٩٥(، وفقا للتفاهم المتوصل اليه في أيار/مايو ١٩٩٦ الذي يقضي بأن توزع اﻷدوية واﻹمدادات الصحية والمواد الغذائية وغيرها من اﻹمدادات اﻹنسانية، المشتراة بحصائل بيع النفط العراقي والمنتجات النفطية العراقية، على سكان العراق توزيعا منصفا وعلى أساس غير تمييزي؛
