81. Mr. Coffi (Côte d'Ivoire), speaking on behalf of the African Group, reaffirmed the Group's commitment to the peacekeeping undertaken by the United Nations and by the African Union.

Mr. Coffi (Côte d'Ivoire), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that the Group attached great importance to the allocation of adequate resources to all United Nations peacekeeping operations, particularly those located in Africa, because of their unique role in maintaining global peace and security.

6. Mr. Getachew (Ethiopia), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that the Group supported the Secretary-General's request for commitment authority, with assessment, to meet the operating costs of MONUC for the period from 1 July to 31 October 2005.

63. Mr. Debabeche (Algeria), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that the Group was concerned that the construction of additional office facilities at ECA had not yet started; however, it trusted that the signing of the addendum to the host country agreement would expedite the project.
63 - السيد ديبابيشي (الجزائر): تحدث باسم المجموعة الأفريقية فأعرب عن قلق المجموعة لأن تشييد مرافق إضافية للمكاتب في اللجنة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا لم يبدأ بعد، وأعرب عن ثقته في أن توقيع الإضافة إلى اتفاق البلد المضيف سوف يعجل بالمشروع.

15. Mr. Alemu (Ethiopia), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that, since ODA had declined two years in a row, timely measures were needed to address the shortfall and enable developing countries, especially the least developed countries, to sustain the development gains they had achieved thus far and adapt to new challenges.
15 - السيد أليمو (إثيوبيا): تحدث باسم المجموعة الأفريقية فقال إنه لما كانت المساعدة الإنمائية الرسمية قد تقلصت للسنة الثانية على التوالي، فإن هناك حاجة لاتخاذ تدابير في حينها لمعالجة هذا النقص وتمكين البلدان النامية، ولا سيما أقل البلدان نموا، من الاحتفاظ بالمكاسب الإنمائية التي حققتها حتى الآن والتكيف مع التحديات الجديدة.
