At the third meeting, the Main Committee considered agenda item 5 (b), " To assess the effectiveness of the existing Durban follow-up mechanisms and other relevant United Nations mechanisms dealing with the issue of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance in order to enhance them " .
179- وفي الجلسة الثالثة، نظرت اللجنة الرئيسة في البند 5(ب) من جدول الأعمال، " تقييم فعالية آليات متابعة مؤتمر ديربان الاستعراضي القائمة وغيرها من الآليات ذات الصلة التابعة للأمم المتحدة والتي تعالج مسألة العنصرية، والتمييز العنصري، وكره الأجانب، وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب بغية تحسين هذه الآليات " .

28. At its 7th and 8th meetings, on 9 October, the Preparatory Committee began discussions on section 2 of the outcome document ( " Assessment of the effectiveness of existing Durban followup mechanisms and other relevant United Nations mechanisms in order to enhance them " ), facilitated by Sebastian Rosales of Argentina.

Members must now implement their commitments, pledges and cooperation through existing mechanisms or work to improve such mechanisms in order to achieve greater effectiveness in their implementation.
والمطلوب من الدول الأعضاء الآن هو الالتزام بالتعهدات، والتعاون والتنسيق في تنفيذ المتطلبات، من خلال آليات العمل الموجودة، أو العمل من أجل تحسين هذه الآليات لتحقيق مزيد من الفعالية في عملية التنفيذ.
