8- وطلبت اللجنة من المكتب في القرار 19/5 نفسه أن يستكشف مجالات التآزر بين دعمه التقليدي للعمل الذي تضطلع به مختبرات تحليل العقاقير ومؤسسات علم التحليل الجنائي بصورة أعمّ.

With the expansion of the mandates of UNODC to cover issues on crime, and with forensic science being the strategic nexus between science and the law, the request by the Commission to UNODC to explore areas of synergy between its traditional support for the work of drug analysis laboratories and forensic science institutions more generally is timely.
وفي ضوء توسيع نطاق ولايات المكتب ليشمل المسائل المتصلة بالجريمة، وكون علم التحليل الجنائي صلة الوصل الاستراتيجية بين العلم والقانون، فإنَّ طلب اللجنة من المكتب أن يستكشف مجالات التآزر بين دعمه التقليدي لعمل مختبرات تحليل العقاقير ودعمه لمؤسسات علم التحليل الجنائي بوجه أعم قد جاء في الوقت المناسب.

Recalling its resolution 50/4 of 16 March 2007, in which the Commission recognized the important role of drug analysis laboratories as part of drug control systems, and the value of laboratory results and data to criminal justice systems, law enforcement and health authorities and policymakers,
وإذ تستذكر قرارها 50/4 المؤرَّخ 16 آذار/مارس 2007، الذي سلَّمت فيه بالدور الهام الذي تؤدِّيه مختبرات تحليل العقاقير باعتبارها جزءاً من نظم مراقبة المخدِّرات وبأهمية نتائج المختبرات وبياناتها بالنسبة لنظم العدالة الجنائية وسلطات إنفاذ القانون والسلطات الصحية ومقرِّري السياسات،

Recognizing also that the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has an essential role in facilitating the development of drug-testing facilities and scientific support services worldwide and in improving the quality and performance of drug analysis laboratories, that it has expertise in implementing laboratory-related projects and that it must make the most effective use of its limited resources to fulfil that role,

2- تطلب إلى مكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة أن يواصل دعم التعاون الدولي في مجال التحليل الجنائي، وأن يروّج وييسّر إنشاء و/أو استدامة الرابطات أو الشبكات الإقليمية للتحليل الجنائي وأن يواصل، لهذه الغاية، استكشاف مجالات التآزر بين دعمه التقليدي للعمل الذي تضطلع به مختبرات تحليل العقاقير ومؤسسات علم التحليل الجنائي بصورة أعمّ.
