In June 2014, OHCHR, in close cooperation with the Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially women and children, presented to the Human Rights Council a set of basic principles based on international law aimed at providing States with guidance in implementing the right to an effective remedy for victims of trafficking in persons (see A/HRC/26/18).
