(b) To ensure that family education includes a proper understanding of maternity as a social function and the recognition of the common responsibility of men and women in the upbringing and development of their children, it being understood that the interest of the children is the primordial consideration in all cases. (art. 4 of the Convention)
كفالة تضمين التربية العائلية فهما سليما للأمومة بوصفها وظيفة اجتماعية، والاعتراف بكون تنشئة الأطفال وتربيتهم مسؤولية مشتركة بين الأبوين على أن يكون مفهوما أن مصلحة الأطفال هي الاعتبار الأساسي في جميع الحالات.

Article 5 requests States Parties to take all appropriate measures to modify the social and cultural patterns of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and practices based on discrimination against either of the sexes. It also requests States Parties to ensure that family education includes a proper understanding of maternity as a social function.
تطالب المادة الخامسة الدول الأطراف باتخاذ جميع التدابير المناسبة لتغيير الأنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة بهدف تحقيق القضاء على التمييز والممارسات القائمة على الاعتقاد بتميز أحد الجنسين على الآخر مع تضمين التربية العائلية فهما سليما للأمومة بوصفها وظيفة اجتماعية.

Article 5 (b) of the Convention reads: " States Parties shall take all appropriate measures to ensure that family education includes a proper understanding of maternity as a social function and the recognition of the common responsibility of men and women in the upbringing and development of their children, it being understood that the interest of the children is the primordial consideration in all cases. "

The Convention includes obligations such as " States Parties shall take all appropriate measures ... to ensure that family education includes a proper understanding of maternity as a social function and the recognition of the common responsibility of men and women in the upbringing and development of their children, it being understood that the interest of the children is the primordial consideration in all cases " .
وتتضمن الاتفاقية التزامات على غرار أن " على الدول الأطراف اتخاذ كافة التدابير الملائمة ... لكفالة تضمين التربية العائلية فهما سليما للأمومة بوصفها وظيفة اجتماعية، والاعتراف بأن تنشئة الأطفال وتربيتهم مسؤولية مشتركة بين الأبوين على أن يكون مفهوما أن مصلحة الأطفال هي الاعتبار الأساسي في جميع الحالات " .

" States Parties shall take all appropriate measures: (a) to modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes ...; (b) to ensure that family education includes a proper understanding of maternity as a social function .... "
" تتخذ الدول الأطراف جميع التدابير المناسبة لتحقيق ما يلي: (أ) تغيير الأنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة، بهدف التوصل إلى القضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على الاعتقاد بكون أي من الجنسين أدنى أو أعلى من الآخر ... و (ب) كفالة تضمين التربية العائلية فهما سليما للأمومة بوصفها وظيفة اجتماعية... ' ' .
