By decision 1998/272, the Council, taking note of Commission on Human Rights resolution 1998/79, endorsed the Commission’s decision to renew the mandate of the Special Rapporteur for one year and to request the Special Rapporteur to report to the Commission at its fifty-fifth session and to present interim reports to the General Assembly at its fifty-third session.

The Council endorses the Commission's decision to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur for one year, and to request the Special Rapporteur to report on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan to the General Assembly at its fifty-third session and to the Commission at its fifty-fifth session.
كما يؤيد المجلس قرار اللجنة بتمديد ولاية المقرر الخاص لفترة سنة، وبأن تطلب من المقرر الخاص أن يقدم تقريرا عن حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في أفغانستان إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين وإلى اللجنة في دورتها الخامسة والخمسين.

14 - تطلب من المقرر الخاص المعني بحالة حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية للسكان الأصليين إيلاء اهتمام خاص للمسائل المتعلقة بقضاء الأحداث في تقريره، عن الشعوب الأصلية وإقامة العدل الذي سيقدمه إلى الدورة الستين للجنة حقوق الإنسان في عام 2004؛

20. requests the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism to make recommendations, in the context of his mandate, with regard to preventing, combating and redressing violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the context of countering terrorism;

Recalling its decision to request the Special Rapporteurs on the situation of human rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions and a member of the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances to carry out a joint mission to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, while regretting that the security situation in the country does not yet allow such a mission,

11. With regard to the accusations against members of the military, his Government had wasted no time in making its own investigations and later requesting the Special Rapporteur to follow suit.
