The Committee agreed that it had responsibilities relating to strengthening the international basis for the peaceful exploration and uses of outer space, which could cover, among other things, the further development of international space law, including, as appropriate, the preparation of international agreements governing various practical peaceful applications of space science and technology.
19- واتفقت اللجنة على أن عليها مسؤوليات فيما يتعلق بدعم الأساس الدولي لاستكشاف الفضاء الخارجي واستخدامه في الأغراض السلمية، وهذا يمكن أن يشمل، ضمن أمور أخرى، تطوير القانون الدولي للفضاء بما في ذلك، وحيثما يكون مناسبا، اعداد اتفاقات دولية تحكم مختلف التطبيقات السلمية العملية لعلوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء.

The Subcommittee observed a minute of silence to mark the recent passing of Vladimír Kopal of the Czech Republic, who had been a longstanding contributor to the work of the Committee and to the development of international space law.
20- والتزمت اللجنة الفرعية دقيقة صمت حداداً على وفاة فلاديمير كوبال، من الجمهورية التشيكية، الذي كان قد ساهم على مدى فترة طويلة في أعمال اللجنة وفي تطوير القانون الدولي للفضاء.

1. To provide Member States and space-related governmental and non-governmental organizations with information, expertise and other requirements necessary for expanding international co-operation in the peaceful uses of outer space and contributing to the development of international space law.
1 - تزويد الدول الأعضاء والمنظمات الحكومية وغير الحكومية ذات الصلة بالفضاء بالمعلومات والمشورة الفنية والمستلزمات الأخرى اللازمة لتوسيع نطاق التعاون الدولي في مجال استخدام الفضاء الخارجي في الأغراض السلمية والمساهمة في تطوير القانون الدولي للفضاء.

The view was expressed that the sharing of information on national legislation and the possible harmonization of such information could help States to improve the legal framework of international cooperation in space activities and could also facilitate consensus on the direction for the development of international space law.
174- وأُبدي رأي مفاده أن من شأن تبادل المعلومات عن التشريعات الوطنية وإمكان تنسيق تلك المعلومات أن يساعد الدول على تحسين الإطار القانوني للتعاون الدولي في الأنشطة الفضائية، وأن يسهل توافق الآراء بشأن وجهة تطوير القانون الدولي للفضاء.

Some delegations were of the view that the existing legal regime of outer space was not adequate to prevent the weaponization of outer space and address the issues of the space environment and that the further development of international space law would be important for maintaining outer space for peaceful purposes.
43- ورأى بعض الوفود أن النظام القانوني الحالي المتعلق بالفضاء الخارجي لا يفي بغرض منع تسليح الفضاء الخارجي ومعالجة المسائل المتعلقة ببيئة الفضاء، وأن زيادة تطوير القانون الدولي للفضاء أمر مهم للحفاظ على الفضاء الخارجي للأغراض السلمية.
