It should be read in conjunction with document ICCD/CRIC(3)/6 which gathered all available information on mobilization and use of financial resources from agencies and institutions, including the members of the Facilitation Committee of the Global Mechanism.

At the same time, the mobilization and use of financial resources and other support from multilateral agencies and institutions has been consistently recognized at the highest level as being necessary in order to achieve not only the objectives of the Convention, but also several objectives directly relating to poverty eradication and other provisions of the MDGs.
