7. While the Government of the Sudan welcomes any objective attempts to examine the nature of human rights abuses in Darfur, it was disappointed with a number of sections within the Commission's report, which led to several unacceptable conclusions.

After the Government had received the report and recommendations of the National Commission, it established several high-level judicial commissions to investigate the allegations of human rights abuses made by the National Commission with a view to prosecuting any possible perpetrators of human rights abuses, and to address the issue of compensation for victims of such crimes.
