وتقدم بالشكر أيضا إلى الأمين العام على جهوده داخل منظومة الأمم المتحدة وكعضو في اللجنة الرباعية بغية تعزيز السلام في المنطقة.

Indeed, the Special Committee had been able to prepare an accurate report on the basis of accounts by witnesses among the population of the occupied territories, Israeli citizens, both Arab and Jewish, and Israeli non-governmental organizations, all of whom, deeply troubled by Israeli actions, had found the courage to come forward to expose the abuses and injustices in order to promote peace in the region.
وبالفعل، تمكنت اللجنة الخاصة من إعداد تقرير صحيح على أساس ما يرويه الشهود من بين سكان الأراضي المحتلة والمواطنين الإسرائيليين، من العرب واليهود، والمنظمات غير الحكومية الإسرائيلية، ذلك أن جميعهم، إذ انتابهم القلق بسبب الأعمال الإسرائيلية، وجدوا الشجاعة الكافية للكشف عن الإساءات وحالات الظلم لأن هدفهم هو تعزيز السلام في المنطقة.
