In this regard, the Ministers expressed appreciation to the Government of Indonesia for the holding of the World Ocean Conference in Manado, Indonesia from 11 to 15 May 2009, which adopted the " Manado Ocean Declaration " , and underlined the need for an integrated coastal and ocean management approach in adapting to the effects of climate change on the ocean.
