Presentations at the session reviewed the impact of global climate change on developing countries in general, and on African countries in particular, and emphasized the need for capacity-building in space technology in order to ensure the full-scale participation of developing countries in programmes and projects addressing climate change.
23- وشرحت العروض الإيضاحية خلال هذه الجلسة أثر تغيّر المناخ العالمي على البلدان النامية بشكل عام وعلى البلدان الأفريقية بشكل خاص وركّزت على الحاجة لبناء القدرات في مجال تكنولوجيا الفضاء بغية ضمان مشاركة كاملة للبلدان النامية في البرامج والمشاريع التي تعالج تغيّر المناخ.

This new right is considered particularly important in the Maldives, a country that is acutely vulnerable to the negative consequences of global climate change and which is also heavily dependent -- economically and socially -- on its natural environment.
وهذا الحق الجديد يُعتبر هاماً بوجه خاص في ملديف، البلد المعرّض بشكل حاد للتبعات الوخيمة المترتبة على تغيّر المناخ العالمي والذي يعتمد إلى حدّ بعيد على بيئته الطبيعية من الناحية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية.

The General Assembly, in its resolution 62/196, entitled " Sustainable mountain development " , encouraged Governments, with the collaboration of the scientific community, mountain communities and intergovernmental organizations, where appropriate, to study, with a view to promoting sustainable mountain development, the specific concerns of mountain communities, including the effects of global climate change on mountain environments.
3- وشجّعت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 62/196 المعنون " التنمية المستدامة للجبال " ، الحكومات على أن تقوم، بالتعاون مع الأوساط العلمية والمجتمعات الجبلية والمنظمات الحكومية الدولية، حسب الاقتضاء، بدراسة الشواغل المحددة للمجتمعات الجبلية، بما في ذلك آثار تغيّر المناخ العالمي على البيئات الجبلية، بغية تعزيز التنمية المستدامة للجبال.

The Subcommittee noted with satisfaction that a symposium entitled " Legal Implications of Space Applications for global climate change " , organized by the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) and the European Centre for Space Law (ECSL) of ESA, had been held during the current session of the Subcommittee, on 31 March and 1 April.
10- ولاحظت اللجنة الفرعية بارتياح أن المعهدَ الدولي لقانون الفضاء نظّم، بالتعاون مع المركز الأوروبي لقانون الفضاء التابع للإيسا، ندوةً عنوانها " الآثار القانونية لتطبيقات تكنولوجيا الفضاء المستخدمة بشأن تغيّر المناخ العالمي " ، عُقدت يومي 31 آذار/مارس و1 نيسان/أبريل أثناء الدورة الحالية للجنة الفرعية.

The symposium consisted of two sessions: session 1, entitled " Legal implications of space applications for global climate change: principles and rules " , was chaired by Peter Jankowitsch of the Austrian Aeronautics and Space Agency and session 2, entitled " Legal implications of space applications for global climate change: institutions and instruments " , was chaired by Sergio Marchisio of ECSL.
وقد ترأس الجلسةَ الأولى المعنونة " الآثار القانونية لتطبيقات تكنولوجيا الفضاء المستخدمة بشأن تغيّر المناخ العالمي: المبادئ والقواعد " بيتر يانكوفيتش من الوكالة النمساوية للملاحة الجوية والفضاء، وترأّس الجلسة الثانية المعنونة " الآثار القانونية لتطبيقات تكنولوجيا الفضاء المستخدمة بشأن تغيّر المناخ العالمي: المؤسسات والأدوات " سيرجيو ماركيزيو من المركز الأوروبي لقانون الفضاء.
