" 9. Reiterates the continuing need for the Programme to conduct up-to-date, comprehensive, scientifically based and policy-relevant global environmental assessments, in close consultation with Member States, in order to support decision-making processes at all levels, and in this regard:
" 9 - تكرر تأكيد استمرار الحاجة إلى قيام برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة، بالتشاور الوثيق مع الدول الأعضاء، بإجراء تقييمات بيئية عالمية مستوفاة وشاملة وموثوق بها علميا وذات صلة بالسياسات العامة، من أجل دعم عمليات صنع القرار على جميع الصعد، وفي هذا الصدد:

10. Reiterates the continuing need for the United Nations Environment Programme to conduct up-to-date, comprehensive, scientifically based and policy-relevant global environmental assessments, in close consultation with Member States, in order to support decision-making processes at all levels;
10 - تؤكد مجددا استمرار الحاجة إلى قيام برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة، بالتشاور الوثيق مع الدول الأعضاء، بإجراء تقييمات بيئية عالمية مستوفاة وشاملة وموثوق بها علميا وذات صلة بالسياسات العامة، من أجل دعم عمليات صنع القرار على جميع الصعد؛

This mandate was reaffirmed by the General Assembly in resolution 67/213, in which, inter alia, it emphasized the continuing need for UNEP to conduct up-to-date, comprehensive, scientifically credible and policy-relevant global environmental assessments, in close consultation with Member States, to support decision-making processes at all levels.
وقد أُعيدَ تأكيد هذه الولاية في قرار الجمعية العامة 67/213، الذي أكّدت فيه، من بين أمور أخرى، على استمرار الحاجة إلى قيام البرنامج بإجراء تقييمات بيئية عالمية مستوفاة وشاملة وموثوق بها علميا ووثيقة الصلة بالسياسات العامة، من أجل دعم عمليات صنع القرار على جميع الصُعد.

5 - تكرر التأكيد أيضا على أنه من الضروري لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة أن يواصل إجراء تقييمات بيئية عالمية حديثة وشاملة وقائمة على العلم وذات أهمية من حيث السياسات، بتعاون وثيق مع الدول الأعضاء، بهدف دعم عمليات صنع القرار على جميع المستويات؛

Document UNEP/GC.25/4/Add.1 outlines possible options for the development of a new global assessment of environmental change, building on the past Global Environment Outlook process (in response to decision SS.X/5), and document UNEP/GC.25/INF/11 provides a synthesis of policy lessons from recent global environmental assessments.
