12. Mr. Debabeche (Algeria), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that the Group noted with appreciation that the Secretary-General had responded promptly to the provisions of Security Council resolution 1778 (2007) and had provided a budget proposal for MINURCAT.

18. Mr. Muchemi (Kenya), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that, while appreciating the work already carried out by the various United Nations entities involved in rule of law activities, he hoped that greater efforts would be made to enhance its coordination and coherence.

Mr. Kihwaga (Kenya), speaking on behalf of the African Group, noted the launching of a meta-evaluation aimed at extracting lessons learned concerning wider applicability, validating and disseminating those lessons and supporting the Organization in adopting them.

32. Mr. Andanje (Kenya), speaking on behalf of the African Group, commended the Committee on Conferences for its efforts to monitor and harmonize the utilization of conference services and welcomed the steps taken to increase utilization at all duty stations.

27. Mr. Mbuende (Namibia), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that the proposed amendments applied to the draft resolution and not to the Declaration.

7. Mr. Kassaye (Ethiopia), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that Africa would not be able to overcome poverty without agriculture development.

13. Mr. Alemu (Ethiopia), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that the Rio+20 outcome document had ushered in a new phase in international development cooperation, to be built on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and leading into the post-2015 development agenda.

33. Mr. Alemu (Ethiopia), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that the decade 2010-2020 had been declared African Women's Decade and gender-parity principles had been adopted in all spheres.
33 - السيد أليمو (إثيوبيا): تكلم باسم المجموعة الأفريقية وقال إن عقد 2010-2020 أُعلن عقد المرأة الأفريقية وأن مبادئ اعتُمدت للمساواة بين الجنسين في جميع المجالات.

20. Mr. Msosa (Malawi), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that although Africa had made significant strides in certain areas of social and economic development over the past decade, critical challenges remained in such areas as education, health and access to basic social services.

Mr. Mamabolo (South Africa), speaking on behalf of the African Group , said that the issue under discussion was more important than ever in view of the steady increase in the number of United Nations officials and experts on mission, particularly since many of them were engaged in peacekeeping operations in Africa.

Mr. Elamin (Sudan), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that the Group wished to express its appreciation for the excellent cooperation extended by UNIDO's management during the audit.
30- السيد الأمين (السودان): تكلم باسم المجموعة الأفريقية فقال إن المجموعة تود أن تعرب عن تقديرها للتعاون الممتاز الذي أبدته إدارة اليونيدو خلال عملية مراجعة الحسابات.

Mr. Elamin (Sudan), speaking on behalf of the African Group, commended the Director-General's efforts to enhance and strengthen UNIDO's capabilities and supported his revised proposal (IDB.36/12/Add.1).

41. Mr. Msosa (Malawi), speaking on behalf of the African Group, said that Africa was home to 34 least developed countries, 16 landlocked developing countries, 6 small island developing States and several conflict and post-conflict countries.
