A set of new measures agreed upon by the Committee and endorsed by the General Assembly last year had included introduction of the principles of equitable geographical distribution and rotation in the composition of the bureaux of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies; a shortening of the duration of the sessions of those bodies; and a broadening of the activity of the Legal Subcommittee.
وتتضمن مجموعة من التدابير الجديدة التي وافقت عليها اللجنة وأيدتها الجمعية العامة اﻷخذ بمبادئ التوزيع والتناوب الجغرافيين العادلين في تكوين مكاتب اللجنة وهيئاتها الفرعية؛ وتقصير أمد دورات هذه الهيئات؛ وتوسيع نشاط اللجنة الفرعية القانونية.

3. At the sixth and final meeting, on 16 April 1997, it was also agreed that the composition of the bureaux of the Committee for the first three-year term starting with the current session should be the following:
٣ - أثناء الاجتماع السادس واﻷخير، المعقود في ٦١ نيسان/أبريل ٧٩٩١، اتفق أيضا على أن يكون تكوين مكاتب اللجنة خلال فترة الولاية اﻷولى ومدتها ثلاث سنوات تبدأ بالدورة الحالية، على النحو اﻵتي:

Takes note of the agreement reached by the Committee at its fortieth session on the composition of the bureaux of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies for the second term starting in 2000, in the context of the implementation of the measures relating to the working methods of those bodies, which were endorsed by the General Assembly in paragraph 11 of its resolution 52/56;
٩ - تحيط علما بالاتفاق الذي توصلت إليه اللجنة في دورتها اﻷربعين بشأن تكوين مكاتب اللجنة وهيئاتها الفرعية للفترة الثانية التي تبدأ سنة ٢٠٠٠، في سياق تنفيذ التدابير المتصلة بأساليب عمل تلك الهيئات، التي أيدتها الجمعية العامة في الفقرة ١١ من قرارها ٥٢/٥٦؛

14. Agrees that, on the basis of agreements to be reached among the members of the Committee on the composition of the bureaux of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies for the third term, the election of the officers of the Committee for the third term should be conducted at the beginning of the forty-sixth session of the Committee;

23. Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 56/51, of 10 December 2001, and the agreement reached on the measures relating to the working methods of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies, informal consultations had been held among the members of the Committee and the regional groups concerning the composition of the bureaux of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies for the third three-year term.
23 - واستطرد قائلا إنـه جرت مشاورات غير رسمية بين أعضاء اللجنة والمجموعات الإقليمية، وفقا لقرار الجمعية العامة 56/51 المؤرخ 10 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2001، والاتفاق المتعلق بطرائق عمل اللجنة وهيئاتها الفرعية، بشأن تكوين مكاتب اللجنة وهيئتـيـها الفرعيتيـن لفترة الثلاث سنوات.

14. On 4 January, the President announced that the Security Council had agreed on the composition of the bureaux of all subsidiary bodies of the Council except the Working Group on Documentation and Other Procedural Questions and the Working Group on General Issues of Sanctions, on which consultations were continuing.

11- لاحظت اللجنة بارتياح أن حكومة النمسا حسبما اتفقت عليه اللجنة في دورتها الخامسة والأربعين(1) عقدت وسهّلت مشاورات غير رسمية فيما بين الدورات، ضمت رؤساء المجموعات الإقليمية، بشأن تكوين مكاتب اللجنة وهيئتيها الفرعيتين، بغية التوصل إلى توافق في الآراء قبل الدورة السادسة والأربعين للجنة.

12. At the 433rd meeting, the Chairman informed the Committee that, as a result of those informal consultations, members of the Committee had informally agreed upon the composition of the bureaux of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies, agenda structures and duration of sessions as reflected in the Chairman's package proposal on the working methods of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies (A/AC.105/L.213).
١٢ - وفي الجلسة ٤٣٣، أبلغ الرئيس اللجنة بأنه نتيجة لتلك المشاورات غير الرسمية اتفق أعضاء اللجنة، بصفة غير رسمية، على تكوين مكاتب اللجنة وهيئتيها الفرعيتين وهياكل جداول اﻷعمال، ومدد الدورات، على النحو الوارد في مجموعة اقتراحات الرئيس المقدمة إلى اللجنة بشأن أساليب عمل اللجنة وهيئتيها الفرعيتين (A/AC.105/L.213).
